Alta Expert Skiing

Alta expert skiing has attracted the likes of ski film production Teton Gravity Research’s Sage Cattabrigga-Alosa—who still calls Alta home when he’s not travelling around the world and filming in exotic places. Alta certainly has lively hard-core skier culture—especially in and around the Peruvian Lodge—but don’t let that intimidate you, the locales are happy to share their slice of powder heaven.

Famed for its challenging inbounds and sidecountry terrain, Alta is an expert skier’s bucket list destination. At the top of Alta’s expert offerings is Mount Baldy, the centerpiece peak at Alta, which dares skiers from afar to try their best in the Baldy Chutes area. Devil’s Caslte, another extreme zone provides experts with chutes and cliffs up high, which drop into wide-open, steep powder fields. Exper skiers who opt for the Alta-Snowbird ticket, can even ski to Snowbird via the challenging, sidecountry Keyhole area, accessed from atop Mount Baldy.
